Growing up in North Reading until I was 12 holds a few special memories for me, and one of those was pleading with my parents to drive by the ship whenever we found ourselves on Rt 28 in Reading, Ma. I don't remember knowing at the time that my parent's had their first date there, or being told it was a big place with amusements of all kinds, or that it was loaded with flowers, but in all fairness...I might not have been listening to all that stuff then. I was just in awe over the fact that a ship was behind Marshalls! (Now Home Goods)
Apparently, about 1955 they paved paradise and made it a parking lot :)
